Hello and welcome to mrdantownsend, now at version 8.0. This site basically serves as an all-in-one site, including music, photography, computers, and anything else I feel like talking about. My Halo server page is at halo.mrdantownsend.com. Thanks for visiting and have fun.
I just got myself an account on Scribd where I'll be uploading some of the useful documents that I make to help prepare for exams. If you're a Rutgers ECE student graduating in 2013 it would be pretty helpful to you to check them out, especially when exams are rolling around.
Wow, it sure has been a long time since I had a post, almost three years actually. You may be asking yourselves, to what honor do I owe this magnificent event? Well, the fact is, I created a blog last night that I am quite happy about. It will probably become the primary venue for all my posts and such, as this website seems to have lived out its lifespan. Though I won't be shutting down mrdantownsend.com, I probably won't be coming here much anymore, so if you want to see the latest and greatest news concerning me head over to mrdantownsend.blogspot.com!
I was working in photoshop last night, and started work on mrdantownsend 9.0. I have a feeling 9.0 is gonna be one of those things, like updating the photos page, or putting a forum up, you know one of those 'projects' that never gets done. Hopefully if I have any consistency though you will be seeing the first design update to mrdantownsend since last year. Hopefully, anyway. In other news, the Awkward Slants project is working out well, we have fifteen songs up now, and we're hopefully gonna start playing places and meeting new people. If you haven't already, check out awkwardslants.com. Have a good day.
Well the world didn't explode yet due to the LHC, so that's pretty good. Also I got a new condenser microphone and six channel mixer for recording the demos we make. It almost sounds professional and its really a pleasure to listen to. The vocals are so much more clear, the piano sounds perfect, the drums are so clear and defined, and the newly added guitar parts sound great too. We also have eleven fully completed and recorded songs now, and two more that we have to record but are finished. Check out the awkward slants website for more consistent updates.
I finally finished coding, designing, and uploading the Awkward Slants website. You can find it at www.awkwardslants.com. I think it looks really really good, it's without a doubt the best site I've designed to date. The most amazing thing is that I got the PNG alpha channel to work in IE6 with this little script. It's amazing and I'm sure others will find it useful. Well I'll probably be updating the photos page, eventually, if I get time for it. Stick around.
Myself, Ethan Fria, and Billy embarked on our own adventure as a group. We've practiced together three times, and we have six full songs. You can take my word when I tell you that they're amazing songs. Ethan is Lead Vocals, Me and Ethan switch between playing Piano and Bass, and Billy plays drums. We've got a real cool style, and all of our songs are pretty unique. We recorded on Sound Recorder with a $20 microphone, so it's not amazing quality, but it's real good. Take a listen on the newly edited Music page.
Recently I got the Halo dedicated server to run smoothly with a load of firewall rules and router configurations. It took me a long time to get it to work properly but it's finally running smoothly. I'm gonna keep it up as much as I can. I also updated my Halo server page, so check that out too. Also since I haven't posted anything in like nine months I'm going to update the photos section with a few more photos, and upload some of the music projects I've been working on with my band. Cya soon.
Too good to be true? Guess again, mrdantownsend version eight-point-o is here. I was messing around in photoshop with making transparencies resemble glass, and I started making an entire website. I'm extremely happy with how it came out, the overall look and feel of the site is streamlined without being too boring, and colorful without being too loud. The perfect balance. Using almost exactly the same xhtml as my last site I made this cool new one. Well thats about it, cya.
